Outing at the beach

Vanessa has been pestering about playing with her new toy (a kite), since her dad presented it to her a week ago. It was an ‘ole-ole’ (souvenir) hubby brought back from his month long work in Terengganu. The little girl was fascinated with the bright colours of the kite, shaped like a fish.

Hubby’s around. The weather’s terrific. A perfect day to spend quality time at Tanjung Aru Beach. So off we went to the beach last Saturday. The trip was supposed to happen on the Easter Sunday but something came up that we had to postpone it. Nasib baik my little girl tida merajukhehe

We purposely opted to go to the Third Beach as it was less crowded there. Easier to fly the kite without the worry of bumping to other people. For those who are not familiar with Tanjung Aru Beach, the beach is divided into three main sections, the First Beach (near Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort), Second Beach (the main beach where restaurants and food stalls are located) and the Third Beach.

This part of the beach is a bit secluded but accessible by car. Obviously, the bumpy road is not a problem since it has its fair share of visitors, families as well as bride & groom-to-be. There were two couples doing their wedding photoshoots that day. We stayed until the sunset was over. It has been a while since I last watch the sunset at Tanjung Aru Beach. The sight is as beautiful as ever. :) It is always a pleasure to watch the sun disappears below the horizon.

My umbrella, ella, ella, ella ,eh,eh...

These few days, I noticed that Vanessa was getting lazy or rather bored with her daily chore as fish feeder. This morning, instead of scooping the fish food patiently from the can, she poured out the whole contents at one go. She also plays the ball less frequent. I guess she was just bored playing with maid @ Kakak and Mama everyday. Surprisingly, the kids next door never came to play during this school holiday. It seems that they prefer to stay indoor watching TV…maybe it is because of the hot weather or simply too many not-to-be-missed cartoon shows to watch. LOL.

Anyway, I think Vanessa has developed a new interest – jalan-jalan keliling rumah. LOL. My mum was complaining that Vanessa was whining a lot, refused the Kakak and insists on mum to accompany her outside, making a few perfect rounds of the house. It all started when my mum let Vanessa join her weeding in the backyard one fine morning. While Mama was busy with the weeding, Vanessa, sitting not too far, watched diligently. Not soon after that, Vanessa seized the moment to wander, exploring the surroundings. Of course, with Mama watching checking on her from time to time. Anyway, it was a fun thing to do then, but now everyday, even in broad daylight, tengah hari buta, Vanessa demanded to be taken outside for a jalan-jalan session. Aiyo, under the scorching sun?? Nobody wants to do that. My mum and maid had a difficult time trying to talk Vanessa out of it. LOL.

Yesterday, my maid let dear Vanessa joins her doing some housekeeping. And guess what she found? A green, miniature umbrella and a small handbag. She loves them so much that she carries them around everywhere she goes. Even to sleep. No kidding! Last night, she fell asleep with her umbrella and bag at her side. LOL. I tried to coax her not to bring them to bed but she insisted by crying out loud. Ahh, I surrendered! Sayang sekali, I didn’t snap a photo. *sigh* I should have captured the moment and later when she grew up, I can show it to her…hahahaha….

Bend it like Beckham

As the compound of our house is quite big, my neighbours’ kids like to come every evening to play. Some time badminton, some time football, some time just running around, playing the game of “Police and Thief”. Hehe…it sounds more like “Polis-sen-tep” though. LOL!

* sigh * Daughter Vanessa doesn’t want to be left behind. She also wants to join in the fun. When the kids are playing badminton, she wants to play along. She whines for the badminton racket and cry for a chance to hit the shuttlecock. Tapi, mana la dia pandai, interrupting their game ada la. Obviously, some of the kids, especially the boys, do not welcome her in the play…kacau saja, they said. And being the protective Mama, my mom always warn them," Kalau kamu tida mau kana kacau, pigi la main di tempat lain." (If you don’t want any interference, then go play somewhere else) hahaha...

In the end, the kids agreed to have Vanessa around but refused to let her play. Instead, they gave her an ‘important’ task, the shuttlecock-picker. Vanessa was more than happy with her task. Every time the shuttle dropped, she will scramble to her feet to pick it up and give it to the nearest person. Sampai berpeluh-peluh bah dia. A win-win resolution I must say. The kids get to play in peace, while Vanessa had her fun, picking-up the shuttlecock…hehe. While the kids are engaged in the play, she will watch at the side with Kakak, the maid. Waiting patiently for the shuttlecock to drop. :)

Hmm, that was the badminton fever. Now it was over. The latest craze in town is – football. Just as I expected, Vanessa will be crying, whining to join in the fun. Football is just too rough for her. She’ll get knocked-down if we let her join in the play. Ah, a tricky situation to handle.

This time, I don’t think she’s suitable for the task as ball-picker. It will be a laborious task for her as the ball is big and heavy…it will take her forever to deliver it to the players. And I doubt that they can wait that long. So, I bought her a ball for her to play. A smaller and lighter one. Phew! Nasib baik la my girl relented to it. She can play indoor football anytime. So far, she is happy with it, as long as there is somebody to play with. If Mummy and Daddy goes to work, then Kakak and Mama will do. :)

Weekend project

Hehe...should have post this a few days ago...but I was too malas to do so. The streamyx at home is a bit slow and the sadest part, the streamyx connection in the office is out... due to out-standing bills. It has been 3 days now. You can imagine la how boring it is without internet? *sigh* Blame it all to the Acc. Dept in KL. My goodness, how could they forgot or negelected to pay the phone bill??! Mind you, this is not the first time. Hmm, I'm not in the mood to rant about this.

Okay, this post is about the project that we did last weekend. Mom had been talking about utilizing the leftovers cement before it become over-exposed and wasted for quite some time. She wants to pave the ground near the drain. The initial plan was to have hubby do the job but since hubby was out-station again, there was a changed of plan.

Last Saturday, we – mom, maid & I decided to test our ‘power’ and skills on the job. Luckily, the kids next door came over to keep my daughter company. Ah, she was so happy to have some friends to play with, so no clingy baby for the day. :)

We started working on it in the morning. Well, the paving was no problem but the mixing part was testing our physical. There was a lot of physical strength involved in mixing the cement, rocks, sand and water. It was the hardest part I would say. It was my first time doing such work.

So, how’s the outcome? Well, our ‘work of art’ was far from perfect. It couldn’t hold a candle against the job done by experts….hahaha. Nevertheless, I’m quite satisfied with it…because we did it all by ourselves. Bulih la kampung-kampung...

Sleepy...

That’s what I’m feeling now. Monday is supposed to be a busy day but not today. Well, at least for me la. I am bored. Nothing to do in the office. While colleagues in PJ are enjoying their replacement holiday for Thaipusam, here in Sabah, it’s working like usual. No half day for Chap Go Meh either. But strange, even with so much free time…I’m not in the mood to blog-hop. So, to prevent me from dozing-off to la-la land, I typed this quikie post. * wink*

How’s your weekend? Mine was fine. On Saturday, I went to our ex-3B1 reunion. * sigh* Looks like I have to re-schedule the post to tomorrow. Actually, I already finished typing it but darn, I forgot to download the pic from camera. Cis! Hmm…tida syiok bah bercerita teda gambar ni…felt like lost saja. Hehe…picture says a thousand words bah urang bilang.

Yesterday, I took mom to visit my Aunty house in Kg. Maang. It’s been a while since the two sisters met each other. Bila suda berjumpa, banyak la story mo share…..Spent 3 hours there but it felt like only a few minutes. I had an enjoyable time too, chatting with cousins like nobody’s business. Even daughter had great time…bonding with her cousins

Notice the little copycat, trying to imitate her cuz,Terry's action. :)

P/s: Happy Chap Go Meh to all !

Counting the hours...

It’s the last day of work before the long holiday. For those who are having Chinese bosses, misti half-day work only. Jelesnya aku!

I’ve just finished assisting one of the staff of our sister company in doing stock inventory. Pheww! Nasib baik la not much stock to count. So here I am, sitting in front of the computer, counting the hours…Waiting for the office hours to end. Another 3 hours to endure in the office. Funny, when we want the time to by in a blink, it crawl at the speed of a snail * ROLL EYES *

I have no mood to work. Well, not that I have much to do in here either. * BIG GRIN * Awal-awal lagi, I have cleared my to-do list so that I can enjoy the CNY and holiday in peace! Yey!!!!!

Tomorrow, we’ll be off to Keningau for the CNY celebration. I don’t have any Chinese blood in me. I am a pure bred Kadazan girl who is married to a half-Chinese guy. It is my second year giving out Angpow packets. Hehehe….

Like the previous years, the family tradition continues. There will be a gathering on CNY eve and on the first day of CNY. This year too, I will be joining my youngest SIL making/preparing the drinks for the relatives/guests. It’s been our designated task for any occasion. Hahaha….seems like they can’t get enough of our air bandung. I don’t do the cooking ya, MIL had it covered. Just tolong mana-mana yang patut... * Wink *

Okay, there won’t be any updates from me until after CNY. So, to all Chinese friends, Gong Xi Fa Chai! Despite all the talk about recession, I wish Mr Ox will bring us good health, happiness and prosperity to us.

For non-Chinese friends, enjoy the holiday and drive safely! Happy holidays!

Note : I'm looking forward to meeting up with dear old friends. Yes Just, sia ingat tu gathering ex-3B1 member! :)
